Pastor Larry has been the minister of this congregation since August of 1989 following an eight and a half year ministry with the Christian Churches (Disciples of Christ) in Red Bluff and Corning here in Northern California. Larry is a graduate of Northwest Christian College in Eugene, Oregon and Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena, California. He has been married to Nancy for 30 years and they have two young adult children, Micah and Alexa. Preaching, teaching (at least two adult studies each week), pastoral care, and involving the church in mission are priorities in Larry’s ministry as he strives to help the church be “a movement for wholeness in a fragmented world.” Larry is actively involved in Woodland Ecumenical Ministries and in the ministry of the Christian Church of Northern California-Nevada (he served a two year term as moderator of the regional church, 2004-2006, and currently serves on the regional Justice Commission). Larry served a five year term on the General Board of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and is just concluding a four year term on the General Nominating Committee. He enjoys walking, reading, playing guitar, watching the San Francisco Giants and following any sport of the University of Oregon Ducks.
