Christian Church of Woodland (Disciples of Christ) ("the Church," "we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting the personal information of visitors to our website, congregation members, and the wider community we serve. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

1. Information We Collect

We may collect the following types of information:

a. Information You Provide Directly

  • Contact form submissions: name, email address, and message content.

  • Church membership and directory information (collected via our online or paper membership form): name, email address, street address, phone number(s), names of family members, birthday/anniversary, and emergency contact numbers.

  • Donation information: when you give online through Givelify, Givelify processes your payment details directly. We do not collect or store your full credit card or bank account numbers. We may receive your name, contact information, and the donation amount for recordkeeping and tax-receipt purposes.

  • Any other information you choose to share with our pastor or staff, such as prayer requests or pastoral care communications.

Our website is hosted on the Wix platform, which may automatically collect certain technical information, such as your IP address, browser type, device information, and site usage data through cookies and similar technologies. Please see Wix's own privacy practices for details on their data collection.

We use the information we collect to:

  • Respond to inquiries submitted through our contact form.

  • Maintain an accurate church membership directory and support pastoral care.

  • Communicate with members and visitors about services, events, and church news.

  • Process and acknowledge donations, including issuing tax receipts.

  • Maintain, secure, and improve our website.

  • Comply with legal or reporting obligations, where applicable.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for marketing purposes.

3. How We Share Information

We may share limited information with trusted third-party service providers who help us operate the Church and this website, including:

  • Wix.com — our website hosting and form-collection platform.

  • Givelify — our third-party online donation processor.

  • Google Forms — used to collect membership directory updates.

  • Facebook — used to livestream our Sunday worship services.

These providers only receive the information necessary to perform their function and are subject to their own privacy policies. We may also disclose information if required to do so by law, or to protect the safety of our congregation or the public.

4. Cookies and Website Analytics

Like most websites built on Wix, our site may use cookies and similar tracking technologies to operate properly and to understand how visitors use the site. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling cookies may affect some website features.

5. Data Security

We take reasonable measures to protect the personal information in our care, including relying on the security features of the Wix and Givelify platforms. However, no method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

You may:

  • Ask us to review, correct, or update your information in our membership directory.
